Presenters

Samantha Atzeni

Samantha Atzeni (she/they) is a graduate of TCNJ’s undergraduate and graduate programs. They teach the FYS, FYW 102, and FYW Studio classes all of which incorporate elements of sequential art and graphic novel storytelling.

Tim Baird

Tim Baird is an associate professor of geography and Faculty Principal of the Creativity and Innovation District Living Learning Community at Virginia Tech. His research and teaching focus on human ecology, social networks, student engagement, and disruption. His research has been supported by the National Science Foundation, the U.S. Department of Education, National Geographic, and Steelcase, Inc. Education.

Ellen Farr

Ellen Farr is an instructional designer at The College of New Jersey and teaches Children’s Literature, First-Year Writing, and First-Year Seminar. Her research focus is the design of learning environments, with an emphasis on universal design for learning.

Ryan Gladysiewicz

Ryan is the associate director for the Office of Instructional Design at TCNJ. He most recently adjuncts for the School of Business, teaching Information Concepts and Database Management Systems, and sits on several TCNJ committees, as well as the NJEDge Annual Conference Program committee. He enjoys working with others on technology and exploring the many ways it can be used.

Drew Hopkins

Drew Hopkins is an instructional designer for the Office of Instructional Design at TCNJ. He is a recent graduate from The College of New Jersey. Working half of his undergraduate in The Office of Instructional Design, Drew presented workshops on the use of VR and AR in higher education at EdgeCon 2020 and the 20th Annual Instructional Technology Workshop. He is eager to hear from others about how technology has transformed their educational experience.

Rebecca Hunter

Rebecca Hunter earned her Ph.D. in analytical chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In addition to her laboratory research on sensor development, she is passionate about exploring new active learning and assessment modalities to engage students and create a more inclusive classroom environment.

Robyn Gold

Robyn Gold is an instructor of First-Year Writing and English at The College of New Jersey. As an instructor, she is committed to providing opportunities for student-centered learning. Recently, she has been asked to lead faculty presentations on the topics of “Integrating Popular Culture into the Arts and Humanities Classroom,” “Engaging Students with Identity,” and “Facilitating Student-Led Inquiry in Socratic Discussions and Compositional Endeavors.”

Nina Ringer

Nina Ringer has been the Director of the Writing Program since 2013. She serves on the Liberal Learning Program Council and the First Seminar Coordinating Committee and teaches First-Year Writing and First-Year Seminar. Her most recent conference presentations have been on Writing Studio, reading a film and writing about it, and the parallel between composing a film and composing an essay. Her first-year courses focus on writing about film, writing about recent television narrative, and, every four years, on the escalating media around the presidential election. She is always looking for new ideas on how to teach students to write.

Catherine Rosemurgy

Catie Rosemurgy teaches creative writing at The College of New Jersey. She is the author of two books of poems, My Favorite Apocalypse and The Stranger Manual, both from Graywolf Press. She is the recipient of fellowships from the Pew Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Rona Jaffe Foundation.

 

Ann Warner-Ault

Ann Warner-Ault is an Assistant Professor of Spanish at TCNJ with a specialization in 20th and 21st-century Latin American literature and culture. She researches and publishes on avant-garde art and literature, community-engaged learning, digital humanities, and study abroad. Ann recently completed a collaborative community-based oral history and documentary project about the history of Puerto Ricans in Trenton working with TCNJ students, Dr. Susan Ryan, Mr. Samuel Kanig, and Trenton’s Puerto Rican community.
