Blended and Online Course Development
Thank you for your interest in developing a blended or online course at The College of New Jersey. The application process (step 2) was created by the Office of Instructional Design to provide a way to connect TCNJ faculty with the training and resources needed to develop quality blended and online courses. This intake form and procedure for course planning will provide a temporary path for blended and online courses to be added as a delivery mode until the TCNJ Steering Committee and Academic Affairs finalize a formal procedure. Compensation for course development will follow the Memorandum of Agreement #104 (“Compensation for the Development of Online and Blended Courses”) signed on May 3, 2016.
As preparation for a blended or online course requires time and planning, the Office of Instructional Design recommends the following timeline in order to ensure you are ready for launching a course that has been redesigned for these delivery modes:
Online courses: course design completed/ready for review 3 months prior to launch
Blended courses: course design completed/ready for review 1 month prior to launch
With these guidelines in mind, a faculty member should start a redesign at least 6 months prior to the start of an online course and at least 3 months prior to the start of a blended course.
Any questions about blended and online course development or training should be directed to:
